Blue Capsule

Blue Capsule - January         It's been a really cold month of wearing my puffer jacket. Kind of hard to believe it's 2022 already, and I'm still writing 2021 and having to cross it off every time. This month we witnessed some drastic changes in terms of the confirmed covid cases. I was lucky enough to be learning from and working with an outstanding pathologist at Tulane to perform Next Generation Sequencing for positive covid samples. It was hard to balance the time I spent in lab and school work because some days I spent 6 hours a day right after classes, and when I got home it's almost bedtime but I haven't eaten dinner. My boss is a dedicated and meticulous pathologist, and he would stay in lab until very late at night just to check everything is done without any mistakes, sometimes all he eats in a day is just a handful of nuts because he focuses on his work so much he forgot what hungry feels like. I couldn't help but wonder, without people like him, we.
